The finished size fits an adult woman. It's a little too small for men. It is knit in the round

Gauge: 9 sts x 13 rows in 2 inches

Materials

  • 100 yards GGH Savanna in Blue Grey - just over one skein.
  • Size 7 double-point needles
  • Cable needle or extra dpn

  • Cable 5 - Slip one onto cable needle and hold to front. P2 from other needle. K from cable needle.
  • C4F - Slip two onto cable needle and hold to front. P2 from other needle. K2 from cable needle.
  • C4B - Slip two onto cable needle and hold to back. K2 from other needle. P2 from cable needle.
  • Cable8 - Slip two onto cable needle and hold to front. P1 from other needle. K2 from cable needle.
  • Cable6 - Slip one onto cable needle and hold to back. K2 from other needle. P1 from cable needle.
  • p1/k1 - reverse stockinette stitch
  • ssk - line up stitches (depending upon how you knit, they can get twisted) and ktog
  • k2tog - knit stitches together
  • k1/p1 - stockinette stitch
  • No stitch - these are stitches that will be gone from knitting the stitches together. If it is useful to you, you can put a stitch marker where the decreases are to help keep track.

Instructions

  • Cast on 80 stitches. Join. If you find it useful to put a stitch marker at the start of the round, please do so.
  • Rows 1-12: *k2 p2 (rep from *)
  • Rows 13-16: p2 *k4 p4 (rep from * 9 times) k4 p2

  • Row 17 (start chart): *Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to back. k2 p2 from cable needle. Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to front. k2 p2 from cable needle. (rep from *)
  • Row 18-20: k2 *p4 k4 (rep from * 9 times) p4 k2
  • Row 21: *Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to front. k2 p2 from cable needle. Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to back. k2 p2 from cable needle. Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to front. k2 p2 from cable needle. (rep from *)
  • Rows 22-29: Repeat rows 19-26
